This is a framework for all the work currently being done, but in addition we are hoping you will join us in the production of a ‘Calendar of Opportunity’. The Calendar will highlight themes you can use in your planning, where difference and diversity can be celebrated. To start this process I am delighted to be able to send you a disc with a screensaver that your school can use for the launch of this work, which addresses all learning profiles. You will need the most up to date version of Quicktime to use it. The screensaver has been designed by students and staff at The St. Christopher School Academy Trust.
The proposed calendar will consist of photographs produced by children and young people from our area. To this end I invite you to send photographs celebrating difference and diversity in the widest sense, to be considered for inclusion in the calendar. The pictures may be black and white or colour, and should be 10” x 8” unmounted prints. All entries will form part of a launch display at the Cultural Centre on the pier on 10th July 2013, and later form a touring exhibition at contemporary venues around Southend. The final winners will have their photograph included in the calendar, be treated to a VIP experience by Southend United FC and receive their photograph printed on canvas. All schools will be invited to send representatives to the launch.
The closing date for the competition is 7th June 2013, and all entries should be sent to:
Tess Boyes at the Civic Centre Floor 8
Entries should be clearly labelled on the reverse with the name of the School and student and a title if there is one.
The competition is open to anyone under the age of 21.
