Projects must involve more than one school and be genuinely collaborative. It is important that the project involves teachers as active participants and promotes and encourages collaboration: the funding must be used to enable this to happen.
Projects should involve one or more schools where mathematical attainment is below national average or where other external evidence can be provided of the need to improve mathematical attainment. The lead applicant must be a person from one of the schools involved in the project.
