Join us for a slightly different approach to our annual event!
Each of our three online sessions will be 1 hour long and the event is offered as a "drop in” - so you can attend any or all that you would find useful. Simply join the relevant session via the link 10 mins before the session start. Time is available at the end of each session to ask questions.
Sessions will be delivered via Adobe Connect.

Evidence shows that effective assessment for learning leads to raised attainment. Identify how you can integrate and embed assessment practices into your science teaching.

13:40 - 14:40 Session 2 - Working scientifically
Understanding ‘working scientifically’ is vital for children to develop ideas, skills, knowledge and understanding in science. You will be able to confidently implement strategies for planning, resourcing and organising enquiry that challenges scientific thinking.

Effective strategies which embrace working scientifically outside the classroom enhance enquiry skills. You will be able to build on, and extend, children’s abilities by applying different approaches to plan and resource rich learning opportunities.

Outcomes
This is a regional event for primary science teachers throughout Southend, Essex & Thurrock and has been organised by Southend, Essex & Thurrock Science Learning Partnership (SLP).
We provide quality, subject-specific Continuous Professional Development (CPD) and support for primary, secondary & FE across the region as a STEM Learning partner.
We can develop an affordable bespoke CPD event which is delivered locally to you for:
- individuals such as: subject leaders, coordinators, heads of departments
- a team/whole department
- a network of schools/groups
- multi-academy trusts
- initial teacher education
