Appropriate Body for NQT Development - Programme 2020-21

Induction and Bespoke Support for all Newly Qualified Teachers

We are an Appropriate Body to externally assess NQTs across the three terms of the year and their final assessment. Working in partnership with local teaching school networks and ITT providers.

Our assessors are hugely experienced in both primary and secondary education and will provide both support and quality assurance to both our NQTs and their mentors.

We are approaching our second year as an Appropriate Body and are enjoying a successful year with our current cohort.

We are offering a comprehensive package of advice, guidance and support to give our NQTs the best possible start in their teaching journey.

Harnessing the vast experience of our professional teachers and senior leaders, we will provide the framework your NQTs need for an enjoyable and successful induction year.

In addition to this, we have signed up to be part of the Department for Education's Early Career Framework (ECF) Pilot Scheme running this academic year. This scheme will be rolled out to all schools in September 2021.

Being part of the pilot means the NQTs and their schools on our programme will get an insight into how the framework will impact them in the future.

The ECF allows NQTs access to a fully-funded, two-year package of structured training and support linked to the best available research evidence. It will ensure new teachers have dedicated time set aside to focus on their development.

Full information on the ECF can be found here.
