Teacher Apprenticeship Programme

The Teaching Apprenticeship Programme is a 12-month, fee-free and salaried pathway to achieve QTS whilst working in school five days a week.

With salary grants for shortage subjects available and the ability to use your school, trust or LA apprenticeship levy it is an almost cost neutral pathway to train teachers in situ.

*Salary grants: £15,000 for Computing, Maths, Physics and Chemistry & £1,000 for MFL and Classics

*Note: if a trainee is 25 or under, you will not pay National Insurance contributions on their salary (salaries must be a minimum of UQ1)

There are no hidden costs or fees charged to the host school, additionally – we offer a free recruitment service should any school ask us for some support in securing a graduate for a specific role.

Additionally, we offer a flexible start date (Sept, Jan, Apr or Jun) which allows schools to deal with any in-year timetable or staffing changes that would otherwise create a recruitment headache.

This means it is an ideal pathway for those members of your staff who work in a support role or unqualified teacher role but cannot afford to access ITT via a SD, SCITT or PGCE pathway.

Or to attract new talent to a school – this is especially true in those subjects that do not receive a bursary and even those who do but must cover the tuition fee. Therefore, it is an ideal way to train those staff in English, Humanities, the arts, PE and primary – to name a few (not forgetting those subjects which attract salary grants).

Attached is a flyer that summarises the programme, costs and benefits.
